Biography
Yves Corbet is a 25-year-old French concert pianist born in Paris, who spent many years living in the Netherlands. Raised in a deeply musical family, his father was a pianist and his mother a violinist. From an early age, he absorbed rehearsals, scores, and the quiet discipline of daily practice. He received his formal training at the Conservatoire Nationale Supérieur de Musique et de Dance de Paris, where his refined touch and poetic phrasing quickly drew attention. During his student years, he won several national competitions and was invited to perform in young artist series across France.
At twenty-three, he made his concerto debut with the Orchestre de Paris, performing Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 23 to warm acclaim. Since then, he has appeared with regional orchestras in Lyon, Lille, and Toulouse, steadily building a reputation. His recital programs balance French repertoire by Ravel and Debussy with works by Chopin, Schumann, and Prokofiev. Audiences note the calm concentration he brings to the stage before the first note sounds. In the 2025 season, he was invited to give a debut recital at the Philharmonie de Paris, marking an important milestone in his young career.
Alongside solo work he spends time teaching masterclasses to children, believing that curiosity matters more than perfection. Away from the piano, he reads poetry and takes long evening walks to clear his mind. Friends describe him as thoughtful, quietly humorous, and intensely dedicated to sound. Though still at the beginning of his journey, he approaches each performance with the seriousness of a lifelong calling. Yves Corbet hopes to shape a career that honors the French piano tradition while speaking in a voice entirely his own.
